Fundraising - Communications - Outreach Coordinator
Position Overview
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development & Communications Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting SARL’s fundraising, donor cultivation, grants management, and external communications. This person develops digital content, newsletters, social media, and helps ensure SARL’s mission and programs are effectively promoted to supporters and the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Donor Engagement: Assist with donor relationship-building, appreciation efforts, donor database maintenance, and outreach communications.
- Fundraising Initiatives: Direct the strategic development and implementation of various fundraising initiatives, including annual giving, major gifts, and events. Collaborate with volunteers and board members.
- Grant Management: Responsible for the full lifecycle of grant seeking, including prospect research, proposal development, submission, and stats reporting.
- Communications & Marketing: Create and manage content for social media, newsletters, website, and press materials. Support messaging and branding consistency across channels.
- Community Outreach: Promote SARL programs and events, coordinate local partnerships, and assist in representing SARL at outreach activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in nonprofit fundraising, communication, or related roles.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter.
- Proficiency with common office software; ability to learn donor management systems.
- In-person role schedule including occasional weekends or evenings.
- Passion for animal welfare.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
