About Us

Founded in 1875, Lawrence General was the first Hospital in the central Merrimack Valley of Northeastern Massachusetts, and the same mission drives us today. LGH is a high access, low cost, high quality, innovative health care provider that is thriving and poised to play an even greater role in the future. Recent innovations include: a new affiliation with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC); a $20 million, 41-bay Emergency Center which treats over 73,000 patients per year; a $500,000 renovation to our Pediatric Center; the only ambient, open-bore Imaging Center in the region; a new affiliation with the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center with their pediatricians on site at LGH; a new 4-suite Sleep Center; and a new Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery (MITS) Clinic.
