Parkland Medical Center Teams Up with South Central Public Health Network, Southern Rockingham Coalition For Healthy Youth, & PDs in Derry, Plaistow & Salem on DEA Prescription Drug Take Back Day

Collection sites will be open on Saturday, Oct. 25, in Derry, Plaistow and Salem
 
Derry, NH (Oct. 15, 2025) — The Derry Police Department, Plaistow Police Department, Salem Police Department, Parkland Medical Center, Plaistow Emergency Room, South Central Public Health Network and Southern Rockingham Coalition For Healthy Youth will take part in the National Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Prescription Drug Take Back Day and “Crush the Crisis” effort from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25.  The drug take back event gives the community a place to safely dispose of all prescription medications including unused or expired prescription drugs, over- the-counter medicines and opioid medications.

The DEA Prescription Drug Take Back Day and Crush the Crisis collection sites will be at the following locations:

  • Derry Police Department, 1 Municipal Drive, Derry, NH
  • Plaistow Police Department, 27 Elm Street, Plaistow, NH
  • Salem Police Department, 21A Cross Street, Salem, NH
 
Law enforcement officers will be collecting tablets, capsules and patches of Hydrocodone (Norco, Lortab, Vicodin), Oxycodone (Oxycontin, Percocet), Tramadol (Ultram), Codeine, Fentanyl (Duragesic), Morphine, Hydromorphone (Dilaudid) and Oxymorphone (Opana). Ointments, lotions, drops, liquid medication in leak-proof containers, vape cartridges without batteries and pet medication also will be accepted. Any medications will be accepted; however, needles, syringes, lancets or liquids will not be accepted.
 
Since 2019, HCA Healthcare has helped safely dispose of more than 88,000 pounds of unused or expired medication during its “Crush the Crisis” drug take back event.
